De Anza College students elected Tony Suen as their new Student Body President, beating out Matthew Egan. The election results were announced Wednesday.
Suen will inherit the position from current DASB President, Anna Callahan. His running mate, Yessenia Ramirez, will serve as DASB Executive Vice President.
Suen and Ramirez have served on the DASB senate for the past three quarters. According to their official campaign statement, together they bring "experience and passion" to their newly appointed positions.
Suen's goals of his administration will be to improve communication between the senate and students, and advertise open forums for students to discuss policy changes with senators. He supports smoking in designated areas on campus and lengthening the amount of time to pay for classes, according to a profile on Suen printed in La Voz.
