Christmas in the Park is one of San Jose’s longest standing traditions. This year, the annual celebration will be celebrating its 25 anniversary.
The park will officially be open starting Nov. 24 and will remain open until Jan. 1 in Caesar Chavez Plaza. Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to midnight. There will be an official tree lighting ceremony of the big tree in the middle of the park on the opening night at 6 p.m. as well as a holiday parade on Dec. 3.
Every year there are communities that help with Christmas in the Park. This year the Community Giving Tree supports the Second Harvest Food Bank, Toys for Tots, and the InnVision Literacy Program.
There are more than 400 trees for non-profit community groups to decorate provided by donations. Those donations buy new attractions for the park as well as paint and maintenance on old attractions.
