ask LA VOZ: Myspace woe
Nicole Moreno
A friend just put some suggestive pictures of herself on her MySpace page. I don't know what to do, I'm no looker, but I don't post pictures of myself online with the caption "Purrrr… Pet the sexy kitty!" How do I tell my friend she doesn't have the "right stuff" without hurting her feelings?
You can't tell her she is not attractive because she'll either deny it or hate you, so you can forget about that.
This leaves you with two options: "Plan A" is to bring up the topic from the back door, by bringing up the topic of pictures on MySpace. You can start it by saying "I swear some people are just trashy," or "I can't believe people use MySpace as a dating service." Hopefully this might get her to think about her pictures, and maybe even change them.
"Plan B" is take a lot of photos with her that aren't so terrible. Then simply tell her you are addicted to fixing MySpace pages and can update hers.
Tell her you just want people to see the new her. Tell her the pictures of her are old and they don't show off her new bod or her pretty face. Get the password, and you're in.
Update the photos and tweak her page a bit to go along with the whole "I wanna fix your page" scheme. You can go to sleep with a clear conscience knowing there are no more of those pictures floating around.
