Most Memorable Baseball Moment: Hitting his first homerun in little league.
Ever since he was old enough to pick up a bat and a glove, Sophomore Robert Sedin knew that playing baseball was going to get him far.
Sedin, who has always had a love for baseball, was first influenced by his grandfather who played catch with him and took him to Giants games.
Sedin began playing teeball at the age of four with the Sunnyvale National Little League.
As a kid, Sedin, much to his disappointment, played for the Dodgers and spent a majority of his time as a catcher. After going from little league to high school to college, Sedin moved from catcher to short-stop to center field.
Of each position he played, Sedin enjoys playing outfield the most. "You get to show off your arm," Sedin says of center field.
Sedin's three homeruns in the ten games that they have played have really gotten him noticed by head coach Scott Hertler.
Hertler says "[Sedin] plays great on defense … [and he] works hard in the classroom." Sedin has already signed to attend the University of Kansas.
With all of the help from his teammates and coaching staff, Sedin looks to work hard and go very far this season.
