Students from about 20 clubs joined together to work at an information table in May to tell faculty and students about the African water crisis.

They raised about six hundred dollars in four days and donated it to an organization called African Water Project, which was introduced to the campus by student April Hunt.

AWP aims to provide clean water to parts of Africa where it is scarce. Each year, water-related diseases kill more people than AIDS and cancer combined.

About 2.6 billion live without basic sanitation and are exposed to diseases such as cholera, typhoid and infectious hepatitis. A child dies every fifteen seconds because of the lack of safe water, according to information they gave out.

The table was set up from May 14 to 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
