Learn how to earn an AA/AS degree and how to participate in the graduation ceremony. De Anza encourages students to obtain an associate's degree, even if they are transferring. For information, contact Dr. Howard Irvin, Dean of Counseling at 408-864-8945.

The Office of Diversity is sponsoring a conference, "Equity=Excellence: California Community Colleges in the Vanguard of Change," with the goal of sharing effective educational practices for serving community colleges' diverse populations. The featured speaker is author and Professor James A. Banks, a specialist in multicultural education and in social studies education. He is a past president of the American Educational Research Association, holds honorary doctorates from five colleges and universities and was awarded the UCLA Medal.
