What happened: Debates between candidates for the De Anza Associated Student Body Senate Presidency were held on Monday, May 12 in the Hinson Campus Center. There were three rounds, with one question each and a chance for each candidate to respond with a five-minute rebuttal. Joseph Traylor, 20 years old and majoring in business was one of the students who saw the debates and said Terell Sterling, the first candidate to speak, stood out most.
Why this matters: The debate kicked off senate elections week, when De Anza students vote for candidates to represent them during the coming academic year. The results of the election will be released next Wednesday.
